These tissue clocks correlate with established aging markers—telomere attrition, subclinical pathologies, and comorbidities—and reveal significant variation in aging rates according to demographic factors, lifestyle, and medical conditions. Most compellingly: by integrating histological and transcriptomic data, the team developed a method to predict tissue-specific biological age directly from blood samples, validated across eight prevalent diseases including Alzheimer's, stroke, and Crohn's disease.
